Demonstrations

Forge demonstration
Every Tuesday, Wednesday from 2pm till 4pm
The forge is active on two afternoons per week. Forging will be demonstrated and explained. The forge contains all the equipment needed to secure the steel tires around a wagon wheel. In addition, the demonstration includes the forging of a horseshoe. For a nominal fee, a small horseshoe can be made with or without imprint.
Demonstration sheep`s wool spinning
Did you know that an adult sheep produces about 3.5 to 4 kilos of wool each year?
This wool is spun in its natural, greasy state — because that’s the best way! Thanks to the lanolin (the natural fat in the wool), the fleece stays soft and is easy to work with.
Sheep’s wool is truly a joy to spin.
Curious about the spinning process or have questions about wool and spinning?
Then come by on Thursday, June 25th, between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM for a continuous demonstration. Our Ria will be there to show you everything and answer all your questions!
Demonstration of handicraft techniques
The ladies of the Texel Heritage Museum take great pleasure in explaining various needlework techniques that were so important to former farm women who mastered that work to perfection.
Weekly on Tuesdays from 11am to 3.45pm, until +/- 15 September
Woodturning demonstration
The dates for the woodturning techniques are not yet known.
